BuyBoard is the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative that was created to give nonprofits and government entities more purchasing power through this online platform. By bringing all members together, both big and small, leverage and purchasing power is extended to all, providing better pricing on equipment, products, and services they use each day. By purchasing through BuyBoard, your organization is fulfilling the Texas state law requirement of local entities to allow for competitive procurement for the purchase of goods and services. This allows your organization to purchase without having to conduct your own competitive process, making the buying process much more simple for organizations across Texas.

Becoming a member of BuyBoard is free and open to all local governments, nonprofits, and other political subdivisions that are eligible to participate under the Interlocal Cooperation Act in the state of Texas. The following must be members of the Texas Association of School Boards to participate:

  • Texas school districts including open enrollment and charter schools

  • Educational cooperatives

  • Community colleges

  • Central appraisal districts

If not eligible for the Cooperative membership, the Texas Association of School Boards (TABS) also offers a nonprofit subscriber agreement to the use of BuyBoard.

Again, membership is free to those who qualify and simply requires the completion of the appropriate membership agreements. These forms are specific to local governmental entities and nonprofit organizations. For more information on which form may be right for you, learn more here at BuyBoard.
